Our Vision & Values
NUC is a key element of Newham College London’s mission to provide the community with educational opportunities at all levels of nursery, school, further and higher education. NUC aims to ensure that all students who would benefit from study at higher education have an opportunity to do so by providing places, excellent teaching and support and maintaining low fees without sacrificing quality of delivery.
As part of implementing widening participation, students who do not hold normal entry requirements are encouraged to apply. Suitability will be assessed through interview.
Evidence of learning through professional experience and/ or accreditation of alternative qualifications may enable the college to award APL (Advanced Prior Learning) comparable to that permitted by other Higher Education Institutions.
Newham College London is an open access institution, which means that all sections of the community are encouraged to study at the College, and all applicants will be offered a place on a course. That place will be suitable to their needs and aspirations, and will be decided upon by reference to objective criteria. Students who are not ready for higher education will be offered a place on a course that will enable them to progress to higher education. Successful completion of a level three course at Newham College London will guarantee the student a place on a higher education course at Newham University Centre providing the specific entry criteria for the course are met.
