The Student Welfare Service provides a free and confidential advice service. We can advise you on the following, or refer you to another local agency who can offer you support:
Finance
Learner Support Fund; Adult Learning Grants (ALG); Student Loans and supplementary grants, Access to Learning Fund; Debt advice; Benefits; Budgeting; Trusts; Charities.
Housing
Finding accommodation; applying to local housing providers; your rights as a tenant; dealing with problems.
Childcare
Locally available childcare; referral to the Childcare Administrators.
Immigration
General information and referrals for asylum seekers, refugees and overseas students.
Health
We have a wide range of general and sexual health leaflets. We can assist you in contacting a GP or other health services.
Personal issues
Domestic violence; harassment; discrimination; forced marriage – we can offer help.
Counselling
Need to talk? We can refer you to our student counsellor / development worker.
