Entry Requirements
We believe that higher education should be open to all students who are able to benefit and encourage applications from both traditional and non-traditional students (i.e. mature students without 'A' Level or similar qualifications). In accordance with our policy of encouraging and supporting all sectors of the community to access education relevant to their needs and abilities, students will normally be offered a place on the basis of any of*:
- Formal qualifications providing UCAS points (normally minimum of 80).
- Formal qualifications, such as an Access course, which do not provide UCAS points.
- Interview.
- Professional standing (i.e. whether the potential student is working in a job that requires a level of ability equivalent to formal qualifications).
If you’re not quite ready for an HE course yet, we can offer you a wide range of courses which will give you the skills and confidence to succeed on the HE course you are aiming for. Successful completion of our Level 3 courses will offer you direct entry to many of our higher education degrees, taking the worry out of finding a higher education place (for more information see the course details).
* Also check further information for specific course requirements.
Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL): The College accepts accreditation of prior learning, both certificated and experiential. On application students should indicate whether they have prior learning they wish to be assessed for APL.
